Our Policies

The role of an Emergency Services Chaplain

  • Emergency Services Chaplains are mature Christians who have undergone the equipping and ongoing development training courses, and called to bring the Love of Christ, in a practical way, to those in emotional pain, trauma and stress. This service is available to Emergency Services Staff like, Fire, Medical, Police Services, Security Personnel and other uniformed staff as well as affected and afflicted citizens.
  • Emergency Services Chaplains also provide ongoing spiritual, emotional and psychological support and guidance to uniformed staff and citizens alike. This is done by bringing short messages and prayers at parades, events, shift changes, weddings, funerals and memorial services.
  • The Emergency Services Chaplain also provides Crisis and Trauma Support at various fatal crime, accident, fire or other traumatic incidents, by supporting the personnel, and victims on scene.
  • Emergency Services Chaplains also train Communities and Community Response Teams in subjects like “Psychological First Aid, Trauma Intervention and Building Resilience.”
  • Fully qualified Emergency Service Chaplains also provide Professional Pastoral Counselling and Guidance as may be required.
