ABOUT US

Do you feel that the Lord has called you :

  • To help others in a time of Crisis? E.g. Friends and Family of loved ones who are critically injured or ill.
  • To stand by those who have lost a loved one, whether through Crime, Suicide or natural causes.
  • To help those who are in pain and traumatised? Victims of Violence, Accidents or other Traumatic incidents.
  • To stand by those individuals who deal with Traumatic and Crisis situations all the time. E.G. Fire and Ambulance Services or Emergency, ICU and other Hospital Staff.
  • To stand by those who risk their lives each day to keep us safe? E.g. Various Policing Services. Armed Response Services etc.

If so then the Emergency Services Chaplaincy may be where the Lord is calling you to serve.

Point of Reference: Luke 10:25-35 and 1 Corinthians 1:26-31

The role of the ESC(SA) is to:

  • To provide Spiritual Wellbeing and Pastoral Support to all First Responders, Disaster Management, Support Services and their families
  • To provide Spiritual Wellbeing and Pastoral Support to those in our Communities that have suffered traumatic events and disaster in their lives.
  • By every word and action, promote the image of Christ, bringing His love to an environment where it is not always visible.
  • To provide Spiritual Wellbeing and Pastoral Support at Crime Scenes and Accident Scenes.

As Chaplains our role is to:

A Chaplain is a mature Christian who has undergone the equipping and ongoing development training course, and is first and foremost there to help, support and assist the Emergency Services Staff members and their families in time of need.

Chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support and guidance. Chaplains also provide ministerial support by bringing a short message and prayer at parades, events and shift changes. Weddings, funerals and memorial services as well as hospital visits are a regular part of the Chaplains role.

During times of Disasters, major structural fires, Accidents, Crime Scenes and other traumatic incidents, Chaplains also support the Emergency Services Personnel .

As a secondary role the Chaplain also provides support at accident or other traumatic scenes, either by supporting the personnel at the scene or by providing trauma support to the victims.
